March 8th of 1935, Anre Hülphers and his orchestera was accompaning Teddy Leif at his recordings for the small label Dixi (who later changed name to Silverton), there was only one problem. It was missing one melody for doing even recordings. But they solved it. Since they worked in the night they just used one melody , from their reportoir wich they where playing for the dancing people at the evening. It's june in january. So her can we hear how they sounded at the Fenix palacy, while people where dancing. More or less a half moth earlier they had recorded the same melody together with Sven-Olof Sandberg so the had to use the dancearrangment. It's June in Januari by Ralph Rainger.

  • Dixi is one of the labels of the Lindström company. The label was also in use in Czechoslovakia.

  • Thankyou, I didn't know about the Czech label, in Sweden the ownership was complecated, the holder in one way was the departmentstore Åhlen & Holm wich was the only one to sell it, but the recordings are done at the odeon studeo = Linström, and also the pressing I suppose. There was some other departmentstore labels owned in same way, like for example Resia=Kristall

  • Lindstöms czech Dixi label started in 1933. The recordings were made in Berlin with czech vocalists.

  • Aha, swedish dixi started at automn 1932 from begining just with german recordings from other edited records in germany. I suppose I should call it a sort of early frenshising. The first recordings in Sweden started in dec 1933. It was just edited at 8" size. In 1934/35 they changed name to Silverton so this is one of the latest dixi records

  • I wonder if there is any discography of all the recordings he made. Some tunes even have been issued on german Odeon.

  • Fantastisk inspelning! Bättre än någon annan version jag hört av denna låt. Bättre än de jag hört med engelska orkestrar från den tiden. Bra! Tack!

  • Skönt tempo med härligt sound.

  • Very elegant!
