Winter Smallmouth Bass 1/28/12

Went out today to fish Wawa since i knew everyone would be @ home staying warm or at the local sportmans show. I rather fish for bass LOL anyways this is my 1st bass of 2012 and i beat my 1st bass of the year by 1 day. Earliest i ever caught bass was on jan 29th. Sounds like a largemouth lake. you could drag a jig or plastics in 20+ ft of water. Or throw a trout swimbait a swim in on the bottom. I think its a bit early in this area for largemouth. Not impossible but a very hard mission to complete haha. A good time to fish it for largemouth would be the day they stock it in march. in the deeper area right by where they stock it cus the bass know they stock is coming.

@LippinSmallmouth This year actually hasnt been warmer than last year. It snowed this year already and the water temps were 42-44. Last year the water was 45-47 at this time. Coulon wouldnt work unless you could cast out to 30+ ft of water. But it doesnt hurt to try. just drag craw style baits....
