We always wondered who Julianne Johnson was since a fiddle tune was named for her, so I wrote this song...."my brother was a coal miner from the mountains of West Virginia and he fell in love with a gal whose beau joined the Union army and never came home. Now they hung my brother and this is the story he wanted all you folks to know."

  • Great melody and story, Lisa! Whoever is doing that background fiddle is doing a super job, too! Any one can play a melody but back-up like that takes genuine talent and soul.

  • I love it, keep making civil war related songs, they're incredible. I live in West Virginia, in Charles Town, where John Brown was hung. Only 5 minutes from Harpers Ferry and 15 minutes from Sharpsburg, MD.
