kurdish lullaby from ardalan region, kurdistan, iran, lay lay, laye laye-y kurdî, lalayie kordi. لايه لايه ی کوردی، لای لای، لالايی کردی Arranged for six voices, the piece is basically an old old Kurdish lullaby accompanied by European words like "Soun, Dormir, dors tenderment" (sleep, sleep tenderly)
I think they should have left the original song alone. The original song, sung by Mazhari Xaliqi is beautiful, this version is no way near to the original one. It's western classicalised, and it doesn't work for the song.
@sodaro15 the song from Mazhar is even NOT original, that is ver modern ( for that time ), mediavel european music has (of course ) a lot to do with oriental music. i think, that is a very nice combination. WHY NOT?
