Penistone Tesco

A graphic artist's vision of how the proposed Tesco will change the overall look of penistone. I agree we could do with one (the reason no one shops in penistone is the lack of choice and the expense, its cheaper to go elsewhere!) I just don't agree with the siting, though this vid looks great!

@awesomecutiepie1997 Nothing is ever set in stone, plans change. 2 years since I posted this on Youtube & then it was over a year since I'd seen it originally so with all the work & rendering & planning etc I'd estimate the Video to be at least 5 years old & remember it was just an IMPRESSION of how it COULD be not of how it's turned out.

Ok people remember the project ain't done yet this is just first stage plus the video is 2 years old (since I got hold of it, it may be older) & plans do change. The video was a first artists impression of how it COULD be.

I don't know if anybody keeps on tracking this post. I think it was a great mistake to remove the prison, being a historical building, but it's gone. I must confess I'm looking forward to variety at decent prices and not what Spar and Co-op limited and pricey stuff. I'll be saving lots and feeding my family. I think it'll bring people to Penistone to shop around, perhaps an opportunity for new Cafes and clothes's shop?

they'll only close if people in the town stop using them...

Theres not many people who use penistone amenities for their weekly shop

I agree! There are less & less people using the local shops as more & more people come in. I rarely shop in penistone anymore due to the outrageous costs. I can shop at Asda, online, and get 3 times what I used to get in the coop for the same money and its DELIVERED lol!

With the amount of Online shopping thats done these days anyway I'm not altogether sure if any of the LOCAL supermarkets will last much longer & I think Tesco should rethink a STORE anyway, missed the boat maybe!

Now we get the choice of 3 overpriced supermarkets to get fleeced in! I think I'll stick to morrisons!

I thought they might have undercut the spar and coop but they are really expensive. Convenient for a few items but I won't be doing my weekly shop there!
