Loch Ness

During a survey of Loch Ness I spotted this on the side scan sonar and jumped over the side to have a look. Anyone got any ideas what it's for? Anyone seen anything like it before?

It looks like an old pipe to me. Maybe for oil or sewage or something. I don't know just a pipe I guess

it could well be something from a prevouse scanning of loch ness from some years back or like someone else as said about during the war doing tests etc for tracking subs.

Close - it was used during a previous survey and not that long ago. What's more, it wasn't supposed to have been left there ... (and no, we didn't leave it)

at the beginning when it shows the metal thing with the pics. on it it kind of looked like a tracking device to me

Hey, its an old pipe they used to transport oil and gas in.
Its just old and since our age of teechnology has advanced, they shut it down and just forgot about it.

Anyone agree with me that there is no Loch Ness Monster and there never has been?

No idea if there is a Loch Ness monster now but I am sure there would have been something similar when dinosaurs still existed. Of course, the big question is, did Loch Ness itself exist then?
