The Pretenders - Back on the Chain Gang - Albany, NY 1-29-09

Opening night of the "Break Up the Concrete" tour. They are debuting lots of new material this tour, but also reached into the songbook for this and lots of other great songs, including Bad Boys Get Spanked, Kid, Tattooed Love Boys, Message of Love, Brass in Pocket, etc... The new stuff's great - I'll post some when I get the chance - (unless it gets yanked.)

Chrissie is like the good wine, she is aging to perfection. She sounds better than ever! I'm 50 years old and I would like to see her performing live once sometime before I part this world. I know her only thru the magic of the tube. Always been a fan of The Pretenders, their sound, and especially Chrissie's presence, voice & charisma. I love her. As a funny note, in my younger and dopey years I used to confused her (in pictures and while in my native Mexico) with Joan Jett. How stupid is that?
