@Jbradley1125 I used MS products for many years and they fulfilled their function. Linux has exceeded my expectations but there are still bumps in the road just the same as when I learned how to master Windows. It is like having a Swiss army knife; Windows only gives you the implements you paid for on the other hand Linux gives you almost everything for free. The limits in Windows is governed by the EULA, The only limit in Linux is your imagination.

GNU/Linux is certainly awesome. I've been using it full time for 4 years (since Feb-2008). It is very tough to get non-Linux users to try it. Once people keep an open mind and give Linux a chance - they are very unlikely to be disappointed.

@Enemtee Hang on to that feeling and you WILL go far! There are a few headaches from time to time, like with any operating system, but you will have a great sense of reward when you learn how to tackle those challenges. An added bonus is you may never need to pay for your software again! How COOL is that?

@LinuxSpatry I feel the same as you. I've started using Linux more or less around one-two weeks ago. It feels like when I started using computers when I was young. It's a very fresh, and free feeling. I love learning all the new programs and functions and it feels like I just bought a computer, but I haven't, I just installed Linux :-)

@Laoch111 I wrote the music.
I agree with your number one - It is THE reason I switched - I would have switched years ago but I didn't even know Linux was safer - the only times I would hear fans going on about Linux would be to boast about some special effect or free software - I couldn't give a toss about special effects and always turn them off anyway.

@poojkhgf Gotta love the security... I also loved the special effects!

I am using Linux since October 2006. Started with Ubuntu 6.10, then moved to ASPLinux, Fedora, and now settled on Archlinux. I must say, most of goodies have come to Linux in last three years. Before KMS, users had to manually adjust xorg.conf file, ATI drivers were utter crap, and the only viable alternative was Nvidia. Now graphics drivers are mostly working out-of-the-box, their development pace is astonishing. However, Linux still has a long way to go.
