Something a bit different from me today.
I have just got a new toy, a Line 6 Delay pedal, which has caused me to neglect my piano for a little while.
The pedal is amazing for layering different parts on top of each other, and everything here I played live, adding in little bits into the loop here and there, putting it in a loop and then improvising over the top. No overdubs or clever editing here, just me with my fretless bass and delay box (if you watch closely you can see when I am stomping on the pedal).

This is a tribute to Eberhard Weber, one of the greatest bass players in the world. He had a stroke last year and I don't know if he's playing again yet. I hope so.
He used to play quite a few solo bass gigs, and I know it sounds dull but he really made it interesting from start to finish. On one tour he did I literally followed him round from city to city, probably in the hope that his magic would rub off on me.

Bass sound could be improved here probably, but I just plugged it straight in the computer. Level is a little low as well, sorry.

  • a few seconds maybe. The important thing is that you needto be able to bypass the delay input and play something over the loop that is not delayed, and then add something else to the loop, bypass again and solo some more.

  • Green only pedal gives you the effect you used?

I can pass the configuration of that effect?

  • @nefelibatabass

There is only delay, that is the only effect.

  • which pedal do you use to have this effect? Where is the line 6 delay, which configuration is used? very good sound ...

  • @nefelibatabass

It's the green one that all the guitarists seem to have. I forget the number DL6 maybe. I think there is a new model out now though.

  • Very cool! Nice to hear something on this side from you.

Btw is that really a fretless bass? I see frets...although it does sound fretless.

  • Thanks. Yes fretless bass, you can see the fret marks as I had the frets taken out.

  • Wow. Forgot how I got here but this seriously reminds me of John Broomhall's Geoscape tracks from "X-COM: UFO Defense"/"UFO: Enemy Unknown" on the PC and original PlayStation. /raina

  • Nice one. Very effective.

  • what scale are you using?

  • which of the delay effects you actually use to get this sound?

what is the exact configuration of the Select button effect?
