The world is mourning the loss of one of music's most influential artists-the King of Pop-Michael Jackson passed away Last Thursday in Los Angeles after suffering from what we hear were heart-related causes and possibly cardiac arrest.

We here at ClevverTV would like to play tribute to the outstanding impact Michael Jackson had on music and pop culture. A man whose music appealed to people of all ages and nationalities, Jackson will be deeply missed. He began his career at the young age of 5, singing alongside his older brothers. As the lead singer of the Jackson five during the late 1960's and early 1970's, Michael lead his brothers to the top of the charts with iconic songs like "I'll Be there" and "ABC."

But it was his incredible solo career that catapulted him to a place that no other pop star has ever reached. His journey as a solo artist began with tracks like "off the wall" "rock with you" and "Don't stop til you get enough." In 1982, Jackson blew the world away with the debut of "Thriller," which we must add was also an innovative moment in the world of music videos as well. Jackson was one of the first Afrcian American performers to have his video in constant cirulation at the then new network MTV.

The followup to that hit was "Billie Jean" which was the song that turned MJ's moonwalk into a dance craze that still lives on. Elizabeth Taylor, a pop culture icon herself, coined Michael Jackson the King of Pop following the success of the Thriller Album. This record went on to produce 7 hit singles. Throughout the 80's and early 90's Jackson continued crafting music that inspired so many artists, including superstars like Usher and Justin Timberlake.

Other noteworthy songs from Michael's career include PYT, "Bad" and "Black or White." Michael Jackson's music will live on as some of the most influential of it's time. Many see him as more than a music icon, but as a historical figure who broke barriers for African American artists accross the country and throughout the world.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family and Michael Jackson's three young children during this difficult time.

We will continue to bring you more on this tragic story as it unfolds. Until then, I'm Joslyn Davis in Beverly Hills for ClevverTV.

We'll Miss you MJ, RIP
