In 1980, STOIC, the Student Television Of Imperial College, celebrated its first 10 years of operation. As I had been involved with them from the very first day it was obvious I had to initiate the making of this programme.
Many videotapes still existed, so a massive operation of selecting clips started late in 1979. The TV Studio had only just bought its first colour equipment along with U-matic as the new editing tape format. Most of the clips were transferred from the original Ampex black & white 1 inch tape format along with new links that were shot in colour.
