Great, thanks. I learn well from Ajahn Brahm, but am finding the speaker is less important than the message - although he really is fabulous, it's great to listen to someone else for a change.

i was in her class but i think buddhism should be put into practical usuage and not "dummy" blind following.

the killing part is a no-no in the 5 PRECEPTS. however, think again about this: if u do not kill the mozzie which bites u or the cockroach that invade your house, what would be the effect? if it's a disease carrying mozzie, after feeding on the host - who could be a sleeping child, an elderly or even a healthy person - may infect him with dengue haemorrhage fever, elephantiansis, malaria or etc. then what next? compassion should be exercise with wisdom. human life ranks most important.

@DRDNIBOY Your arguement is not addressing the fact that cockroaches can be harmful. You're only stating that bug spray (which you don't need to kill a cockroach) is harmful.

An excellent lesson...thank you for sharing.

@live4Cha : Because the Buddhists you met do not put the Buddha's teachings into practice. They have perhaps drifted away from his teachings. It just like the fact that not all Christians are kind, contented and simple like Jesus taught.
