  • Do never use shoe cream on old books, only an mixture of lanolin and neatsfootoil.

  • @gyllenhaupt actually you are wrong. even lanolin and neatsfootoil attracts insects and rodents, so it needs to have additives to repel them. Meltonian shoe cream is not like shoe polish, the ingredients are similar to face creams and have a neutral ph. if you are giving a facelift to books that are NOT valuable. The Meltonians are safe and acceptable.

  • Hi Molly I am a bookdealer who has used this shoe polish as way to somewhat hide small scars to a book for some time but never seen anywhere else. Still looking for best price on some of the shoe creams. Randy -Randy's Bookscout
