GCUL, I admit this is an example of someone trying to "hide" some data in other data and was deliberately deceptive. However, the actual data was not changed or falsified, so let's see the full context and what the actual impact was.
Also, and most IMPORTANT, let's see if this had any effect, whatsoever, on NASA's figures. If you look at NASA's graphs you'll see a DROP after 1998 which went to a new high in 2005. That is NORMAL.
This email DOES NOT change the EVIDENCE for global warming.

the global cooling thing most likely refers to the stoping of the Gulf Stream:At the N Pole, some of the water freezes, the other water, now colder and more saline, descends to the bottom and proceeds to move south, and if i remember, it comes back up in the Indian Ocean(this, if i remember again, produces the monsoon). Now if the water doesn`t freeze, well, Britain will be as cold as Moscow in january, Florida will become a savana and India won`t have the monsoon! In cant explain everithing now

Phil and I have recently submitted a paper using about a dozen NH records that fit this category, and many of which are available nearly 2K backI think that trying to adopt a timeframe of 2K, rather than the usual 1K, addresses a good earlier point that Peck made w/ regard to the memo, that it would be nice to try to contain the putative MWP, even if we dont yet have a hemispheric mean reconstruction available that far back.

why do you refuse to look at facts?
Fact: hackers broke into Climate Research Unit at East Angelia University in the U.K.

Fact: thousands of e-mails from leading climate researchers, many lead IPCC authors, have been exposed

Fact: in those e-mails, they admit to falsifying and manipulating data, hiding their data sets so they cannot be tested by others, they discuss how to get favorable reviews of their articles/papers, and about pressuring peer-reviewed journals to not publish differing ones

The earth has been warming since the end of the little ice in the 1300's. These same scientists that now predict global warming were the same ones predicting global cooling. With GW a few hundred million acres that were uninhabitable because it was too cold are now open for humans, and other animals, to live on. A year around ice free Northwest Passage would save billions in transportation costs. At best mans effect on the planet is like two fleas on a dog arguing over who gets to steer.
