Cleaning up the hand-rubbed finish on a blade - J. Neilson

This is how I clean-up the hand-rubbed finish on one of my custom knives. Very simple and straight forward.

Hey man, I am just starting to explore the world of custom knives, and I was wondering how a stag handle to have tight tolerances and strength where it meets with the guard/ blade

For a wood/ mircarta type handle scales, you just bolt.rivet them with a epoxy backup to a full tang, correct? And to put a cross guard on a full tang knife would you just have to make the hole in the center larger to fit over the full tang?
