Ariel Atom Nurburgring Nordschleife

Fourth lap of the Nordschleife, I clocked the time to be 9:12 which is slow, but there were three Yellow flags to slow down for so I think a more respectable 8:12 would have been possible. Looking back at the video it's easy to say should have been flat out in several areas, we touch 130mph in place. But unless you have driven this track and know where the bends go after blind corners you need more than 4 laps to know your way around! So I was happier to back off have a slower time and still be able to drive the car back to the UK and not be on a tow truck.

Cheers Vincent ;-) but after travelling 500 miles to the ring there was no way the girlfriend was going to wait in that bar for me to go out and have fun one my own! May see you aging at the ring one day, all the best with your car and lap times.

I will NOT call that slow! I am full of admiration for you and your girlfriend there! This is the best way to pass time and have fun and I totally agree with you for backing off in some areas. Anyways...great lap and it still looks properly fast! Best of luck! Hope to be able some day to do the same on the Nordschleife!

Agree that's slow for an Atom, but how many of those Porsches that you passed had passengers? Have to say that's fast when compared to what else is street-legal in most countries,except not here in Australia :( !

after reading your description: u are right, no risk is @ the ring the only way to come home. (before - i was thinking: man, in 1st round in this car i would be faster...). :-)

Fantastic HD footage of the car to have ... I like the M5/M3/GT3/Nissan GTR/Caterham R500 but for absolute fun and low cost total reliability it has to be the supercharged Atom !
