  • You don't have to buy it, simply challenge any of us who practice jiu jitsu or submission grappling. We can make you a believer.

  • you dont have to buy it. watch any fighting combat sport. jiu jitsu wins nearly every time.

  • @alinbjj Not much, at least not from Jacare's perspective. There is an interview where he complains about not getting much from BJJ in terms of financial benefits. He had won this tournament and didn't have enough money to go board a plane to go back to his home town. I don't really know how true that is but that is what he said. That is one of the reasons he got into MMA. The Gracies of course don't need MMA per se. They can make money just off their names in BJJ.

  • @aridavidpaul aldo is a black belt in jiu jitsu and was at a very young age and competing at a high level in his teens son

  • hahahahahahaha!

0:40 i laughed so hard here xD

  • @aridavidpaul I used the Prangely fight not for the outcome but more for the manor in which he lost. I think it's easy to poke holes in the premise of your argument actually. Maybe not so easy to to it within the 500 word constraint of youtube though. It's just a baseless supposition that you've provided. Picking certain outcomes in the UFC is a weak foundation. And fact that you consider Mir to be among the best BJJ fighters in MMA only further proves you don't know much about grappling

  • @vincespell No need to shout. Turn off your caps man!

  • @MPA2000 IT IS NAIVE TO BELIEVE THAT JIU-JITSU WINS ALL THE TIME AND IT DOESN'T! IT HAD A GOOD RUN FOR A WHILE BUT NOW WITH THE ADDITION OF MUAY THAI AND BETTER BOXING SKILLS, NO JIU-JITSU HAS A HALF THE CHANCE IT USED TO HAVE, CHUCK LIDDELL WON ALL HIS FIGHTS WITH BOXING, RAMPAGE, COUTURE, NICK DIAZ BOXES YOU TO DEATH FIRST THEN WHEN YOUR DOWN HE SUBMITS YOU BUT NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO GET PAST HIS BOXING AND THAT'S HOW HE WINS THE MAJORITY OF HIS FIGHTS ALTHOUGH HE IS A GREAT SUBMISSION ARTIST

  • @elguapoalso Okay, so you counter my 5 examples from top level MMA competition with 1 example of your own from mid-tier competition. To review: BJJ black belt and HW beltholder Frank Mir loses to wrestler Brock Lesnar. BJJ black belt (and previous BJJ world champion) BJ Penn loses to wrestler Frankie Edgar. BJJ legend Antonio Noguiera loses to wrestlers Phil Davis and Ryan Bader. Palhares loses to Marquardt, Maia to Silva etc. The best BJJ guys lose to the best non-BJJ MMA fighters.

  • @aridavidpaul And where did you pull that declarative statement from exactly? There are plenty of examples of great wrestlers with JJ knowledge falling to elite BJJ fighters. The most recent example is Trever Prangley losing (badly) to Roger Gracie. Prangley has superb wrestling ability and a lot of MMA experience and Roger made him look like a complete amateur. Old school BJJ on full display. Fighters with the highest level of JJ skill are always dangerous for ANY opponent.

  • @alinbjj Everyone trains in everything. The point is it seems you're better off spending your life wrestling and doing a little BJJ and boxing on the side if you want to succeed in MMA. In a fight between a superstar wrestler with blue belt BJJ and a worldclass BJJ guy with a couple hundred hours of wrestling, the superstar wrestler wins.

  • @aridavidpaul all of those fighters are you telling us about are training in bjj, come on, dont be an ignorant, what is the best style to defend yourself on the ground? the answer is bjj.Even if lesnar is wrestling base, did you think he is not training in bjj? of course he has.
