Those Helos came in really slow, and probably threw ropes too soon.

@randomhero4u69 yea actually, im in the Marines and have been for 7 years. and yes it is training.

@blackhatch46 Just because people have used fast roping in combat doesn't mean that these guys are doing it right so I don't get the connection that you're trying to make...I'm Air Assault, are you even military? It's not a big deal they just don't have the correct form for fast rope..it's an easy fix and that's probably why they are practicing it...Plus, I like to give Marines shit for fun..it's a friendly rivalry..

@randomhero4u69 yea cause i guess the Marines dont know what they are doing... ha! pretty sure they were taught that way for a real reason that has been used in combat

@usnpilot231 this is the uh-1n/212 twin turbine

tisk tisk marines looks like you need to go to Air Assault school and learn how to fast rope the right way, which doesn't include holding the rope with your knee's cause when you go foreal you will burn your shit right up...but quick movement atleast
To answer all the comments; this was the first time doing it, we are a boat company not a helo company. Yes, this was ridiculously slow, yes the ropes went too soon, yes the HRST Master did it wrong. This was just something to kill time in Okinawa when were got extended for a year there on the 31st MEU.

No idea, its not the new Super Huey though. Still a 2 bladed main rotor. USMC standard Huey I guess, whatever the HML sends over for us to use.
