  • The Chevy 383 Stroker is an 8 cylinder engine that uses the popular production Chevrolet 350 block and a slightly altered Chevrolet 400 crank. A stock 350 has a piston stroke length of 3.48 inches. The 400 crank changes the 383 to a total stroke of 3.75 inches. This produces a total displacement of 383 cubic inches (thus the name 383).

  • 383= 350 block and 400 crank

  • @DRK4x4 Seriously! I got pictures of the tear down and the engine inside looked like it was brand new! I tore down a perfect running engine to build HP. The 454 HO was a beast, and now its a 700 HP beast, but I can't run it hard like I use too. Cam way to big!!!

  • Im no expert but i would like to know does stroking an engine make it more gas efficient as well like a turbo does or does it consume more gas?

  • @6digitz ...and 4.030 bore.
