The World Socialist Web Site sent a team of reporters to Sterling Heights, Michigan, to speak to workers at a Chrysler assembly plant about talk of further pay cuts and plant closings. Democrats and Republicans are demanding that any loans to the auto industry to prevent bankruptcy must be accompanied by massive attacks on auto workers. Many workers expressed anger at the prospect of severe cuts in pay when banks have received hundreds of billions of dollars, with no strings attached. The World Socialist Web Site and Socialist Equality Party are hosting a public discussion on December 20 to discuss a new strategy to oppose concessions: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/dec2008/dmtg-d15.shtml
