Are these based on just orbital period and temperature? Because, in all reality, you would have to have an acceptable atmosphere, be able to grow crops in the soil, among numerous other things.

Just whatever we do make sure that we never go to LV-425 I'd rather not have to deal with xenomorphs

I counted Mars as an immideate solution. A place where we could stay if we were not ready for interstellar travel. Also if we can possibly ever do that we could try to crash some meteors into it over a long period of time to increase its mass. Maybe even a moon but that would require a fuckton of energy.

Even if we cannot bend space/time i don't think you are counting in the possibilty of refueling on the way. Here harvesting gas from gas giants could be a possibility. Or make a short-term base on a rock planet to either harvest resources and fuel or maybe create antimatter.

Bending space and time is already being done by big objects like earth. Which is why people who have been further away from earth and come back has not aged the same way as the ones who stayed. Also particles jumping into other dimensions exist. They are called neutrinos. Enough mass and "wonders" can happen. I think that there are other proposals too.

No not at all. Because all suns are not even nearly as hot as our own. Many of these are orbiting brown dwarfs(which i would actually call an advantage) and their goldilocks zone is far closer than our sun's. Also as you can see we know their approximate temperatue. The coldest star found is a brown dwarf and if i recall correct it had a surface temperature of about 25 degrees celsius. That is less than several places on earth. And that is a STAR.
