Jennifer is right about the people you meet out on the backroads. I made a trip up to Asheville, NC and i decided to return by not driving on the interstate. I was very uplifted by the people in the small towns i stopped in. Not that people are bad on the interstate system but i think they are just in that fast pace mode of thinking. In the small town its a slower, A bikers pace. It did make me look forward to my upcoming cycle tour next spring.
