This is a recut I made of The Who's last performance with the late Keith Moon on May 25, 1978. I made it with Adobe Premiere Pro in October 2003. This is by far the most "aerobic" cut I've seen of The Who. It's absolutely tiring to watch the energy oozing from the stage!

  • you should of slow motioned the bit where he does the famous jump at the end, that would of been awesome :D.

  • The point was to not slow-mo anything to get the feeling of speed. The original version already does that shot in slow motion anyway so it'd be redundant.

  • great re-edit, where did you get all the 'srtting up' and alt angles from? thats not on kids are alright is it?

  • Yeah, it's all on the bonus disc of TKAA.

  • As performances go I don't think this was their definitve version of the song,

However, it's definitely the best filmed and recorded. And their frustration at having to play the song repeatedly comes across in excellent fashion. It's one of my favourite live videos ever.

  • Zebonka, you're right - this wasn't their definitive version (well, at least not Keith's). But it's probably the best professionally filmed one from the Keith era. I just caled it "definitive" since I feel that my re-editing makes the performance a bit more exciting!

  • I'd like to do to American Idol what Townshend does to a Les Paul.

  • Best band EVER ! Thanks !

  • @sbamkmfdmdfmk QUE GRAN SALTO EL DE PETE TOWSHEND

  • @sbamkmfdmdfmk You didn't get Keith knocking the cymbal off toward the end of the song. That part's great, and it's in the original cut. According to some interview, apparently he wanted to wreck the kit and then found out the whole thing was bolted down. I laugh every time I see him knock it off.

  • so fabulous.. Not words enough to describe the times and circumstances in life when this song hit. Still goosebumps after 40 years. Thanks so much for posting ! Don't get fooled again !

  • Gotta love even the most subtle occurrences of Pete and Roger trying to constantly out-do each other on stage, i.e. 4:20-4:25 DO YA?? HELL NO!!!

  • BEST live group ever!! Wish I could have seen the whole gig..Saw them first in '65..They are amazing!

  • I was at the charlton fc gig in 76 .. bad seats at the back .. or so I thought .. man! it was fucking LOOOOOUUUUUDD! .. I remember thinking those poor bastards at the front.

  • @terminalninja
