Large rooftop arrays of vacuum heat-pipe tubes (a low-cost, proven technology) produce hot water in all climates. They gradually heat up water in a storage tank. Return water from central heating is heated; the furnace functions primarily as a backup. Solar absorption cooling and dehumidification; tap water.

In addition to solar hot tap water, SmartSolar provides complete, efficient and affordable solutions for solar central heating (both water and air based) and central or individual air conditioning

  • I'm in a moderate climate zone in Southern California but would like to look at this for a new small prototype energy efficient green LEED house I will soon be building here. The description-title is "FULL ON PRACTICAL, EFFICIENT, SMALL, OFF-GRID HOME." I was planning a flat roof but all options are open
