The AAA of England is an Association of the Athletics Clubs of England.
On 10th May 2004, Sport England and UK Sport published the Foster Review which set about destroying the AAA's, and the influence that the Clubs have in the sport.
Clubs voted at 2 EGM's in 2005 to:
1) Preserve the title of the AAA's and all of its assets (including the trophies - some dating back to the 1800's, and one being pure gold. These trophies have a valuation of several million pounds).
2) To retain governance of Athletics in England.
The disgraceful Chairman George Bunner working like a trojan horse for Sport England ignored the will of the clubs, and sent his staff to work for England Athletics.
This film was made in early 2005, when I naively believed the officers voted onto the AAA's to serve its best interests, would respect the will of the clubs.
The useless cowards that they are conspired with Sport England, UK Sport and UK Athletics to render the AAA's helpless, then transfer its commercial rights away to the quango England Athletics.
This story is very much to be continued.
Athletics Club Secretaries are needed to show an interest, and ensure they understand the issues and vote accordingly.
