I haven't seen Watchmen yet but I am really sceptical about the changed ending. I'm kinda afraid to watch it and then be pissed off.
Leaving out stuff is OK but changing the ending is ussually a bad thing.

well, think of it this way
the overall ending is still the same, a disaster that unites the world. It's not the alien because that would include the sidestory of all those kidnapped people. Think of it that way, same ending, new twist
