This cover album, "Twelve," brought me back to absolutely groovin' on Patti Smith (and her daughter, who has a lovely voice). Highlights:
Midnight Rider
Soul Kitchen (from Doors' first album)
Changing Of The Guard (which I'd never heard before, but I'm only 63!)
Within You Without You (Without NO doubt, THE best track on the disc -- I love to listen to this, the Beatle's version, and Thievery Corps. version in a 3-song loop)
Are You Experienced? (Brilliant!)
White Rabbit (great percussion!)

she is my old hero......

Patti is great always!!!

Love the Rolling Stones version (well they wrote it anyway!) but listening to Patti's cover version I felt my eyes getting wet all of a sudden. I was not even born in USA, so I'm alien to Iraq war and stuff, but I feel the message is universal: why the fuck can't we just get along?!

Has anyone posted her performance of this song from her induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame?

Her majestic meets their satanic majestics, am I not dreaming? They are my idols (Patti and Jagger)

She's my new hero. I'm always late to things. I'm late to Patti, but man am I glad I found my way.
