ok, thanks. just looked like mono the way it was holding the curl coming off the spool. ive herd of people using straight through mono, out of preference, i was just interested to know why someone would choose that..

Does the water ever go above that wall? Or is it just like drought?

Why do you have your drag set so loose??? Do you have a certain way you set the hook with loose drag???

Call me crazy, but I only fish 4lb mainline and 4 lb leader. I used to use 6lb but have gone down to 4 to make things more interesting. The Bass in my local waters arent huge, with a mid 40s being a good fish, so I like to give them a chance. Yer, I may fish with light drag, but it makes for more interesting...and fun, fishing.
IMO there is no fun in simply locking the drag and skull dragging fish out on 10lb+ line...there is no sport in it either. But, thats just my opinion.

great stuff. as a point of interest what breaking strain line are you using. it seems to be extremely light, as you have your drag set very light, and had that bust of on a seemingly innocuous strike.

I use 6lb line, with 6lb leader. I see no reason to fish heavy, as that takes all the fun out of things. As for the bust off, I know whats under the waterlevel at that snag and trust me, there is nothing innocuous about it.
