It was done in the style of Elvis so it obviously sounds like him, but when I bought it at Christmas time in '74, aged 12, Elvis was just the name of some old bloke from the 50's to me, and, I suspect, a lot of people from my generation.

To me, this used to be just another Christmas song, and to many of you too I'm sure. Unless you've ever loved or lost, you will never truly 'hear' this song for what it truly is...
