Hyperextended Knee (EDIT-Torn ACL Connection)

last weekend (4-19-08) i had been trying to learn to skate and Me,Connor,Kevin,Hunter,&Nick decided to go down a huge hill at camp Roosevelt and when i went down the hill i got bad speed wobble and got scared and jumped off but when i jumped off i landed on my knee wrong and hyper extended it which hurt like a b***h and this vid is like 30 mins after the accident it just shows the swelling and the scrapes.

I jsut got my MRI's back and it turns out i didnt hyperextend my knee but i broke my tibia (shin bone) where my ACL (tendon) connects to in so now i have a tendon connected to a chunk of bone thats to connected to nothing and i have to have surgery done on 4-29-08 by Dr.Dolskey whos gonna sew my chunk of bone back to where it came from.

@DAYSOFTUNA I can walk just fine, jump and all that it just cramps every now and then.

I don't skate, I'm more of a geek I was just trying to learn to skate here and fail epicly xD

@mcd1992 i been skate for 6 years, when i got knee injured , myknee have a little loose movement and now i can't skate normaly everytime i try skate and mistake position of my in its really hurt.. but this is my question i can skate normaly when i get done surgery and therapy.. sorry in my english man its not my languages i use but i try..:P

@DAYSOFTUNA I had surgery and that was it, i never went through therapy and can walk just fine. Now as a being active on this knee the only thing i've done is running.

If you go through the therapy tho, you will most likely be able to skate again as long as you rebuild the muscle and other tissues back.

@wtfruo99 yea, knee has healed nicely. Altho I'll probably have arthritis later in life (it pops alot)

Same thing happened to me accept torn ACL and broken tibia I have surgery next week.

hey bro i have the EXACT same injuries. Road rash elbow, 13 stitches, road rash hip. and torn ACL two Torn meniscus. phys therapy is magic bro. i would recommend it. i get surgery next week

that looks excacly like mine right now! it hurts like hell and its stiff and cant move my leg at all.

@mcd1992 yea mine does that to like when u bend it it makes a loud pop then sounds like someone is gargling its weird mines does that alot and it hurts and my knee cramps alot and if i stand for 5 mins or more my knee gives out
