RANT: My Take On - The Predator Ultimate DNR Edition

A lot of people have been asking me if I'm going to be getting the recently released "Predator: Ultimate Hunter Edition" Blu-ray. In a word, NO. And now I'll tell you why. Plus, I'll tell you why THIS worries me a LOT about the forthcoming Alien Anthology set....

Seriously. Read the whole thing. It sums the whole situation up PERFECTLY. And the irony that this Predator mess came out less than a month AFTER that article...just boggles the mind.

@shakermakerman That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Artifacting due to lower resolution is not even remotely the same thing as film grain. You cannot see film grain on VHS or DVD, neither has the resolution to reproduce it. Again, learn what film grain actually IS and what film is supposed to look like. This string of comments is only making you look more foolish with each response.

@shakermakerman Well, you're in the minority then. Every other review out there agrees that the transfer was total crap. So bad, in fact, that it is widely considered to be one of the worst transfers in the history of the format. It's not how the movies looks, and not how it should look. You might want to get some information about what film is supposed to look like, because this ain't it.

Anyone who has the old predator blu ray that after watching this STILL wants to get the Ultimate edition, here's how you can have it for free: Go into your video settings, find Noise Reduction. Turn it up all the way. jack up the color saturation a few notches, as well. Shazaam, you've got it..

dam it already goten it thanks to my pc i wasnt able to see this vid but i did get it at a low price, its a dnr mine field out there and i steped on one and lost a toe.

yet they can remake a movie from the 1960's about a killer flesh eating plant in the 1980s. But they can't tranfer predator onto blue ray. for the love of Audrey JR. Some on e fire these people.

As for how the ninja turtles cross over dvd  special was done with the 80's 2000's and comic turtles. Fuck you dvd prducers give us the dam thing unabriged.
