New Construction. Doing the start-up on heating and air conditioning system. Surprised me when I walked into the dwelling and cold air was being pumped out of the return.

  • Look close, its a 90% downflow heater. He bought the wrong heater, could have been the supply house mistake. Start-up guy should have caught this but a good looking install beside that. That is really not that big of deal, swap out the heater and no problem.

  • @kuehnehvac You brought up a valid argument. But, there were more than 300 units in this tract. I was one of the start-up guys (I caught the problem) and I know for a fact that the right (upflow) furnace was installed in this floorplan. I read blueprints with the best of'em. It was a duct connection issue in the attic. This wasn't the first time I found supply ducts connected to returns.. and vice versa. I'm pretty good at what I do.

  • LOL, keep these vids coming, Love 'em!!!!!

  • I aim to please. Customer service is the name of this game. I'm producing a new video as I type. When I clicked the link for this page, my computer made a groaning sound and then I heard a *thud*. I'm afraid to look... but I'm fairly certain that my tower dropped a nut.

  • It happens. I cut the 'new guy' some slack. He's not familiar with the blueprints. He won't make the same mistake again. He's actually a really good installer that I've known for many years. But, that won't stop us from drilling him at every turn. Construction guys are a tight group. We're brutally honest. and we take care of our own.

  • thats what happens with installers that get paid piece I deal with it every day.

  • Our installers are paid per hour. This muck-up was performed by "the new guy on the job site".
