http://www.canmagnetic.com - CT scans differ from MRI scans by their ability to image different things and the way they image them. CT uses medical radiation or x-rays to image small objects with fine detail such as when looking for lung nodules and imaging the coronary artery. MRI is the gold standard for imaging soft tissues, bones, joints, the brain and is now evolving into the heart and small bowel. MRI does not use medical ionizing radiation. Each test is better suited for different situations.
