Central Asia doesn't fit into any regional cooperative institutions, and the international responses to ethnic riots in Kyrgyzstan shows that neither the U.S., the EU, China, nor Moscow has crafted a good policy towards the region.
Fiona Hill, an expert at the Brookings Institute, spoke at a Eurasia Foundation panel discussion on Feb. 3. She focused on the events that occurred in Osh, Kyrgyzstan and the lack of international support for Central Asia. She spoke with Thomas de Waal of the Carnegie Endowment.
