@talkingtree4 Thay are both. some may be wild and some are domestic. Keep in mind that many of these cats were kept by Egyptians as pets to guard the grain storage from rats. Today we use ferrel cats for this. It really depends on the cat, how they are raised and their temperment. These are larger than the domestic cat and can do some real damage with their claws. A domesticated Serval usually is fully declawed .

Servals being around human's a very young age ARE just cats very Big cats its like saying Bengals are a Lion!!! there very loving and are more like dogs!!! there amazing cats and are not wild I mean they may come from Africa in nature but that's just because that's were the breed comes from doesn't make it wild plus its sometimes mixed with a normal house cat!! they are truly beautiful and wonderful cats its just literally a mini cheetah or leopard

I absolutely HATE seeing Servals banned. They are so much smaller and more docile than Tigers, the comparison is like comparing owning a goldfish to owning a Killer Whale! Servals pose absolutely NO THREAT to the public. Their prey is small (birds, rodents, rabbits, etc.) The largest prey the biggest male Serval can take down is a newborn Thompson's Gazelle (10 lbs). Exotic animals are not dangerous in the right hands. Servals are not closely related to Leopards!

I don't disagree with this. I do not believe we should be selling and breeding exotic pets anymore to be kept as pets just because with many exotics there's a high chance of being abused in their home... However, why not just take exotics from abusive homes and let them be rehomed ? Why not just let the people and exotic animals who love each other stay together-- just not allow people to acquire NEW exotics (unless maybe through adoption / rescue...). That's how I feel.

After watching this, I want to get one now!! What a GREAT creature to share your life with. As long as people fully understand the feeding and excersize requirements and are ready to provide for the "long term", I think this should be a legitimate choice to own.
