Periodontal Microsurgical Upper Cuspid Exposure

Tooth #6 the upper right cuspid was impacted and previously exposed,a chain was bonded and it was moving into position but toward the facial. This procedure helped to create more room for easier positioning while managing the appearance and functionality of the gum.

@HALOMASTER801 when you use local anesthetic, which we do, the tissue is numb and the patient cannot feel incisions. When we do surgery we premedicate patients on NSAIDS and keep them on for 24hrs with addition of narcotic analgesics as needed. Most patients don't need much pain medication with this protocol.

i have a question: there are a lot of people who would prefer to stay "asleep" during the operation. do you also make use of general anaesthetic if the patient wishes so?

@pR05t0 we do IV conscious sedation. You are relaxed but breathing on your own and can respond to commands. Or for lighter sedation we use oral medications.

I also had this done. It doesn't hurt at all. It's just fear for you right now. My tooth was located in the roof of my palette. I now have the chain. It took a week for my stitches to dissolve and overall the pain is based on the quality of your doctor. hope i helped!
