Hey i was there! i was 7yrs old and i live in Oahu Makakilo Kapolei! On the mountain side. It was so scary for me because after it was over there was a little after shock and that shock made my TV fall down on my bed and it landed on my foot and it was sprained badly. Aka my TV was sticking out a little and it moved too during the first rumble of the earthquake! It was my first and only earthquake i been in. Also i remember the black out too. I think last year? Well ya scary!

Yeah, I was in South Kohala (where the most severe ground shaking was recorded) and tjhe Big Island got it MUCH worse than Oahu in terms of shaking intensity. I thought I was gonna die and windows were shattering and our cars were skidding a few feet back and fourth in the driveway. Funny thing is, we only lost power for a few hours, whereas people on Oahu, where the shaking caused no damage, lost power for a whole day. Ali'i drive got intense shaking -not like it was on the Kohala soft soil.

nah our power can back on 11 30 am

I remember that day, I was living at Kalama St in Kailua, Oahu.

lol the truck more heavy then the cooker but thats the only thing that moves
Yeah, I was down on Ali'i drive in kona that morning. we were about 20 miles from the epicenter. It was definately the biggest quake I have felt. Cars were bouncing around and palm trees and buildings swaying. Car alarms going off every where and rock walls falling. Nothing major, a power pole went down. Lots of slides down at kealakekua, but not much more. we got it easier than u guys at oahu I think.

Yikes! I can only imagine and hope never to experience one that big here. So many old houses and buildings would go down over here with one that big.
