RoboPhilo, the new, low cost, humanoid robot is expected to sell for under $500 yet has many features that exceed robots selling for two or three times the price. For more information visit Robots Dreams at http://www.robots-dreams.com.
is the robophilo easily moddable? for example there's a guy who ook a stock robonova and added working grippers on the hands, and a whole bunch of other crap. some other guy even got a coilgun on his robonova's arm and another guy had a sawblade on his. can mods like that be done to the robophilo?
The price makes me want to rush in and buy, but I still wonder about the quality of servos. I am hoping buying the non-RTW kit will offset the price of a gyro.
Well, the arms and some of the body may look like the Robonova. But, Robonova has 16 servos, costs double the price, and has limited programability. RoboPhilo has 20 servos, sells for under $500 full assembled and much less than that as a kit, and has a totally open software platform.
can it move faster

Looks great and is affordable but it looks a little slow at walking, is that just you moving it slow or is it just not made for fast walking?

nice video! does the robophilo have "pose capture"?
@iridis: good. I hate it when they try to make robots cute.
