  • Unless you are a total baseball geek or are a pitcher the balk rules are the hardest to understand. I totally respect those college plus pro pitchers that have this in their brain. Also to all players that need to know what is going on at all times. American league , please get rid of the '73 DH rule especially because of the interleauge games. If you want to be on the field you need to man up to the plate.

  • one does not simply balk into mordor

  • I now know..THANKS

  • @mchulse22 Lol yea it does

  • "Talking out of turn... That's a paddlin’. Looking out the window... That's a paddlin’. Staring at my sandals... That's a paddling. Paddling the school canoe...ooh, you better believe that's a paddlin’." Sorry this rule reminds me of this quote.

  • Never knew what a balk was, until today.

  • Wow. Very good. I finally understand a Balk. Thanks.!!

  • if i played baseball put me out in the outfield the heck with being a pitcher the only good thing about being a pitcher is that you don't work every game

  • Vert good

  • Very educational

  • what if a RHP has his right foot on de rubber, makes a windup, lifts his left leg, holds it there in a pauze and then throws to first without taking his right foot off the rubber... would that be a balk?

  • @Mrhockey3031

    Wrong.

    See: Rulebook.

  • To pick off a runner at first as a right handed pitcher you need to step off the rubber or else its a balk

  • @Hollywooddave123 if you're not on the rubber and taking signals its a balk, also if you move your feet in any way to either start a pitch or pickoff, and you don't do either, its a balk.

  • @mj830000 yes

  • After seeing just the pitcher rules, man baseball looks like such technical sport!

  • Great Video!

  • From the wind up can a right handed pitcher step back with his right foot and throw to first with his left foot still on the rubber?

  • now i know this stupid rule hihihi. thanks.

  • lol

  • Very well put together video. I never realized how easily a balk could be called or how many different ways a pitcher could commit one.

  • An ump called a balk on me for taking signals from the catcher while I was leaning forward looking at the catcher but my body was kinda straight up facing the sky. Is that a balk?

  • its the stupidest rule in sport period..

  • Good video now I know what to do when I'm on the mound.
