Dragnet - The Big Frank (1/3)

A man on his way to work has his car stolen and is robbed and beaten. The perpetrator and an accomplice, drove away in two cars. A friendly citizen stops to help and gets the license plate number of the accomplice's vehicle.

Friday and his partner, Sergeant Frank Smith, locate the rooming house where suspect Jack Grant is living. Grant's landlady lies about Grant's whereabouts in exchange for ten dollars which leads to Detective Smith getting shot.

Friday will not rest until Grant is found.
