  • I love the change of fast to slow movement. It looks amazing! And damn! is that sh@t difficult like hell! I'm still a beginner and yet I do realise how ignorant I have been. When you see it, it's easy to say "That's nothing. I can do that!". But once you start, you see that some tiny weak-looking gramps has more muscle than you for he can do this all day long and you "die" after a couple of minutes. XD

  • @abraxnos Tai ji is for fighting. It may take a very long time to make its martial application strong, but is is a long study anyway. Internal arts are not usually the first kind someone would learn, so it's expected that you know how to throw proper punches and kicks in the first place (not exactly trivial, even for UFC types).

  • @karlcrawford Right. The cultivation of the expression of physical energy (fa jing) can only go on for so long.

Traditional internal arts teach the development of development of physical energy and into the mixture of physical energy and chi (hua jing) and eventually after many years perhaps seeing expression of chi (an jing). A very high aspiration.

While the guy in this video is reasonably skilled, there is a definite Shaolin-type influence. Looks a bit like wushu :)

  • @Gieszkanne Daoist Martial Arts and Chi cultivation are much older than Chen Village, that is most definitely true. About the Wudang - Chen Village dispute, propaganda aside, historical evidence points to Chen village as the birth place of Taijiquan. The main families' (Yang, Wu, Wu/Hao, Sun) styles are all related directly or indirectly to Chen Taiji. I'm not denying the Zhan San Feng theory, I'm just saying Chen Wang Ting theory is not propaganda.

  • @Gieszkanne i agree tai chi originates at wudang mountain with Chang Sang-Fang and the snake fighting the crane or eagle or whatever it was i am a student of the newer yYng Hsu Tai Chi my self

  • Ya man

. I would like to approve

    APPROVED!

  • Ma Hong also is also 83 and he still practise his tai chi strong and low. When i said Chen style is the original tai chi, what i meant was it is the original tai chi of the modern times. And i agree with you about the communist propaganda. They standardise almost all the martial arts by making forms and wu shu competition. I think Ma Hong is the closest one from Chen Fake style. Chen xiaowang is very good and Wang xian also, but i don't think Chen Zenglei is as good as the 2 other guys.

  • @karlcrawford

Like bemap says he is 64 now and whatch his actual vids with fajin. And the age matter. Yang cheng fu unly gets 52! and his Onkel Yang Banhou 55! Feng Zhiqiang is 84 now ! I think ist depends more upon what you eat and how you live.

  • @Bemap30

"Original Tai chi" I have much respect for Chen style but this is communist propaganda, who wanted to eliminate any religion including daoism. The best way to promote Tai Chi is that its made by working class farmers ;) Daoist martial arts und chi cultivation is much older than Chen village !

  • You was originally a jerking movement :D
