Worker Dies at SeaWorld Orlando

Authorities in Orange County Florida say paramedics were called Wednesday afternoon to the Shamu Stadium at Sea World where they found a worker who could not be revived. (Feb. 24)

A large number of killer whales in captivity were born wild, Tilikum from the San Diego Aquarium being one of them. We take them from their pods, put them into tiny pools, teach them to bat around balls and "play", pet them like kittens and then wonder why they sometimes act "ornery" or mistake humans for toys, killing them because they don't know their own strength. What surprises me is not when they kill their trainers but that they don't do it more often.
