@Unit987654321 i dont disagree with you on that, what he did was wrong and it injustifiable. but how can you tell who made the crime? lets say 1 out of 10 were involved in crimes(due to how quickly troops were being mobilized only ocupation troops reallly get a chance to stay long enough). would you kill the whole army just to make sure the criminals are dead? innocent people shouldnt pay with the criminals. same as the saying:"the sons shall not pay for the sins of their parents"

when taking interview besides selecting the cast, these people (Glantz, Erickson) asked leading questions and clearly were not trying to get the real story but the gooey details. No hard questions for people they are interviewing.

@xxironballzxx Instead, the NKVD and Red Army under Stalin 'cleansed' about 20 million of their own people. Excusing the Soviet Union from war crimes against innocent civilians because they didn't commit mass murder (which is entirely false, see the entire history of the Soviet Union under Stalin) is wrong. War crimes are war crimes, no matter who perpetrated them.

@TheMaffioso Even though the "other" Axis and Allied armies weren't "allowed" (i.e. had specific orders not to) rape or commit other war crimes, they did. Soviet women were raped en masse by the Germans, for example. The killing of POWs was a practice in the U.S. Army, for example the Dachau and Biscari massacres. You've most likely been brainwashed by history which was written by the victor.

In war, nobody is righteous. The winners can say they *were* only because they 'won'.
