JAMES WILLIAMS BUGEI TAMESHIGIRI
James Williams, renown martial artist of the Bugei Trading Company in a full tameshigiri cutting demonstration. Tameshigiri is the practice of test cutting tatami mats with the Japanese sword. Tatami are straw mats, wetted and tightly rolled to resemble the consistency and resistance of a human limb. (In early Japanese times, the preferred cutting targets for tameshigiri were condemned criminals and cadavers.) This art takes years of practice and dedication to refine, and James Williams is a skilled artist, having trained for over 40 years in the martial arts.
