This is the new music video of Jacob Favela's "For the Kids", with Jacob performing his song with Meosha Adams. In it Jacob tells the story of the many older kids who are left parenting younger siblings, when parents refuse to care for their children, or when children are orphaned.

"For the Kids" is a film from the Children's Music Project at Hill Country Youth Ranch. It was directed and edited by Carol Priour.

The Ranch is a family-oriented Christian facility housing abandoned and abused children. Most are wards of the state of Texas. The Children's Music Project is one of several fine arts programs at the Ranch that seek to discover, encourage and accommodate the artistic talents of these children. With a state of the art recording studio, theatre and fine arts center, the Ranch is immersed in providing kids the opportunity to expand their horizons in ways that may lead to future vocations and careers.

Typically, children at the Ranch write poetry, which is then taken by professional songwriters and musicians and recorded in an effort to spread the words of the child and the story of their lives. "For the Kids", however, is unusual because it is a song both written and performed by one of our kids.

The project is now working on its third CD of songs featuring such luminaries as Dana Cooper, Stephen Bruton, Monte Montgomery, Sara Hickman, Tommy Spurlock, Jamie Oldaker and Flaco Jimenez.

We hope you enjoy this production.

The Ranch and its fine arts programs are supported largely by private donations. If you would like to contribute to the cause, you can check out the website at http://www.youth-ranch.org, or mail them at P.O. Box 67, Ingram Texas 78025.

  • I love this video.. gonna order it and show it to our youth group!!!! Are there any new songs by this young man? I'm gonna take my family to visit the youth ranch

  • I'd love someone in the Lime Light do this song and share some of their wealth and influence to this great cause.

Respectfully, I don't listen to hip hop. But I do know a good song when I hear it.

At first I thought this video was a number of people lip sinking a famous song I didn't know. Can't believe this great vid is from such humble origins.

    To everyone involved, great job.

Check out our video and cause Check out our efforts. Search "Worlds first free recording Studio."

  • Jacob, again this is a good one! I'm glad to see that you continue to work on goals you set for yourself. I like this video as much as I do the other. Keep up the good work, & I'll try to see you soon. Charles
