I'm absolutely certain about the music - it's terrible, and completely wrong as an accompaniment to footage from this classic TV series.

Superb. It catches the non-linear nature of the story and the song picks up the nostalgia for adolescence running through the book.
Alan Garner is criminally under-represented these days.

Thanks for posting this. I'm a big Alan Garner fan but never saw this series- even when it was repeated. Like the music as well.
