My Sennheiser 518 Headphone Review and Unboxing. Overall, a great headset and I highly recommend it.

  • By the way Cali56Killa, those are Audiophile headphones. It takes a high power headphone amp/sound card to use it's full potential. I just bought a sound card with a headphone amp and the headphones sound absolutely clear. The bass is thumping and the vocals are crystals. Your not gonna get it's full power with an iPod or default computer sound card input, Realtek.

  • @darnoses123 I thought because they were low impedance headphones (30ohms), they didn't really require an amplifier? But yeah, my PC probably needs something better than the onboard sound to hear sound at its fullest. You said you own this set as well, what would you recommend for a sound card?

  • @darnoses123 I have some of these and i used it with my Ipod it worked great because I bought a Sendsation Pocket dock for ipod and connnected it to my total airhead amp with used these headphones at the maximum potential

  • if you want a better adapter buy the grado one

  • Good Review

  • red link brought me here

  • @Cali56Killa I would recommend the ASUS Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 or the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi. It all depends on what you can afford. The HD518 were originally designed as Audiophile headphones. There's a difference between Stereo headphones and Audiophile. I can explain loads, but YouTube limits comments. The 6.3mm jack is the headphone's default, considering their Audiophile. Your using half it's power with the 3.5mm jack. Anything that's expensive requires something for it's best.
