30 Sep 1992 (Part 1) - Next morning, Blake wakes up to find Ross gone but Holly is there waiting with a peace-offering breakfast. Holly tries to be civil, but Blake doesn't want her there. Holly finally gets frustrated when Blake refuses to listen. Blake doesn't feel treasured by Holly's attempts at mothering, but Holly questions if Blake really feels treasured by Ross. Holly thinks Ross and Blake's relationship will eventually self-destruct because they're totally incompatible. She then declares that she quits as Blake's mother. Meanwhile at WSPR, Gilly wants David to retrieve the pictures from Roger's desk, but he refuses. Ross arrives to use the studio, and Gilly panics when he goes to wait in Roger's office. Back at the garage apartment, Blake is amused by Holly's worry that Maureen will see her there. Blake wonders how Holly can quit being a mother when she really wasn't a mother to begin with. Holly lays out her life to show Blake how it was always centered around her [Blake]. Holly is stunned when Blake feels that Holly only stuck with her because she felt obligated. They continue to argue if Holly ever truly loved her daughter.

  • I love Holly bringing up Carrie in these scenes, & Blake's humor about Holly being neurotic & that meant that Holly at least had a chance w/ Ross.

  • It also meant Blake had a chance with Ross. ;-)

I always felt Ross had a white knight complex. He liked to ride to the rescue and save the damsel, but he was too hurt from what happened with Carrie to get too close. He always found something wrong with each woman. Maybe he saw Blake as his last chance at personal happiness, because he made a real effort to make things work with her.

  • God, Holly was THE BEST.

  • Athough Liz Keifer's Blake had more dimensions than Sherry Stringfield's, I had such a hard time getting used to her in the role. She came off so whiny. I'm totally with Holly here. Personally I'd have slapped Blake across the room.

  • All I can say is "wow."

  • Could Blake possibly have woken up with any more make-up!?

  • As much as Holly drove me crazy during these episodes, I felt kinda bad for her when she attempted to make peace with Blake here.

You have to admit, Holly and Blake have the same neuroses.
