Nice shooting! I wouldnt think you would have good consistancy with the lighter 40 grain bullets at that range due to any type of wind. My Rem700 in 223 with a 20" barrel and 1 in 9 twist likes the heavier 69 grain sierra bullets for long ranges.

@MichaelkSimmons I have a Savage 308 bolt saction rifle with scope and a Rossi .223 single shot break open rifle. They are both great guns and both fun to shoot. Out of the .30 cal rifles, the 308 is the cheapest to shoot and has plenty of knock down power. The .223 is a fun target shooting gun. Cant go wrong with either. A 20 round box of ammo of Herters I pay, $8 for the 308, and $4.50 for the .223. So now that bad.

I'm not sure if I should go with the 223 or the 308. price and power are the two main factors. fun to shoot the bigger 308, but 223 is cheaper. nothing to hunt around here. what should i do?

Good Video , I love those savage bolt guns , most accurate ! my present model
110 in .308 with 6 by 24 power optics is an absolute tack driver . I glass bedded
and free floated it , and of course I load out standing components. I am a 22 yr marine vet and life time re-loader for accuracy . Something kind of funny happened @ the range , I was just checking my zero @ 100 yards with my 308 . , 5 shots in one hole , the guy next to me said " Gunny " if there is trouble you need one of these

I have a savage model 12 LFV (lefty) with a nikonBDC coyote special on top and LOVE it!! For the money, it's just hard to compete with a savage out of the box.
No, I adjusted up 8 MOA.
