Tooter Turtle (sometimes spelled Tudor or Tutor... (more)
Added: November 29, 2007
Tooter Turtle (sometimes spelled Tudor or Tutor) was a cartoon about a rather dopey-looking, Mortimer Snerdish talking turtle who first appeared on TV in 1960, as a segment, along with The Hunter (a Foghorn Leghornish detective dog), as part of the King Leonardo program.

Tooter's segment was always a simple morality play, which involved Tooter calling on his friend, Mr. Wizard the Lizard, to change his life to some other destiny.

  • It was with these valuable information that I could better understand the contents of the cartoon. Too bad this design is not in Portuguese, maybe I would understand better if it had English subtitles so I translate into my language.

  • I am happy for you

  • Now there's a blast from the past... I love the reference to Gunsmoke (marshall DILLON not mellon) and how unusual to see in a cartoon people being shot and going down, and guns being re-loaded... you never see that even in the later years.

  • I don't speak English and for that I had to translate what posted in writing and he gave to understand a little of the it recounts of the drawing (and that the face that he appears all, hour speaks of the weapon that tooter this using).I would like a lot of putting legends in English and later to pass for the Portuguese to understand each chapter of the drawing better). But I don't get to understand what they speak .maybe he had legends would be easier to understand

  • I also watched this cartoon around 35-40 years ago and it was one of my favorites. I have tried to explain it over the years but no one recalled it. My husband told me I was imagining it!

  • Actually most people do not remember that cartoon, and was one of my favorites too

  • This guy is just like some people.Wanting to be something they were not,and not accepting who they really were.I like how these cartoons taught lessons to us also! Another was Aesops Fables on Rocky and Bullwinlke.Todays cartoons are trash---most of them.

  • "Once watched a co-worker fall from a two-story scaffold. On the way down he was heard to say "Help Mr. Wizard"." ~L.S.

  • drizzle, drazzle, drozzle, drome, time for this one to come home

  • Oh so funny! What a trip! Funny you don't see much of this stuff in cartoons now a days! Wonder why? Could this be the reason our generation is fighting in so many wars? Could this cartoon be a recap of times to come with our current president? Barach jumps off the cliff and takes the nation with him into record depths of the abyss... hmmmm.. meB

Maybe too much politics for this cartoon..did not mean to spoil the fun in Romper Room..

  • This single episode has more talent and longevity than a whole days worth programming on Cartoon Network or Disney Channel.
